Dr. Richard Wood to announce bid for Superintendent of Public Instruction
Announcements in Lafayette, Indianapolis to take place Wednesday
INDIANAPOLIS - Dr. Richard Wood will announce his bid for Superintendent of Public Instruction tomorrow.
Having served as the Superintendent of the Tippecanoe School Corporation, Dr. Wood will kick off his campaign in Lafayette before traveling to Indianapolis.
"Our schools and students are going to face many exciting challenges and changes in the next few years," said Wood. "As Indiana's next Superintendent of Public Instruction, I hope to continue to have the opportunity to be a positive contributor to the enhancement of our public schools."
In Indianapolis, Dr. Richard Wood will be joined by gubernatorial candidate Jill Long Thompson, running mate Rep. Dennie Oxley, and attorney general candidate Linda Pence. This will be the first joint appearance of the Democratic statewide ticket.
