It's Like Déjà Vu All Over Again

(It would appear that fellow HPR contributor Scott Downes and I had the exact same thought to write up very similar posts at the exact same time. This is worth noting because we are not even in the same time zone, and I have never, at least not to my knowledge, met Scott in person. It feels a little like one of those awkward "Oh, you bought me the South Park: Season 3 DVD box set for Christmas, too?" moments. Of course, if I were a nicer blogmistress, I'd go in and manually change the time on his post to one minute later than mine, so he could have top billing. But I'm lazy, and I want you to scroll all the way down the page.)

Presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's campaign announced today that they will be airing a new 60-second ad in 18 states.

And Indiana is one of them.

Whoa.

Indiana? The state most Democratic presidential candidates fly over before and after the primary election?

We still matter! We get to sit at the Big People Table for the general election! We might be a state to watch in November, as opposed to the state that's left watching CNN turn us red at 6:01 p.m. I'm not sure I can take it. The excitement, that is. I feel almost like...

Very nearly like....

An Ohio voter in every other presidential year!

Right, and in case you wanted to see it, here's the ad:

This is great news of the down ticket candidates including Nels in the 4th and Montagano in the 3rd. To say nothing of the boost to the top of our state ticket. Myself and others think that McCain is truly losing it. He just does not seem coherent. Will he last till November?

I'm posting some other news on the statewide front as I type this. It should be a good year for Democrats, but I will say this: There's a long way to go between now and November.

This is great news for the legislative and county-wide candidates too. Obama will bring new voters to the polls and energize people to vote.

As for Obama's announcement today to not rely on public financing for the November election, it's funny to hear McCain condemn the move as "politics as usual". Seems like even the Republican might be willing to work on campaign finance reform after this year's trouncing.

Mike Sodrel can start interviewing congressional staff because this will backfire big time South of US 50. The conservative anti-tax pro second amendment pro life pro military bubbas in their pickup trucks with gunracks in the back will turn out in droves...and not for Obama. For confirmation, please see primary results for those counties and fall general election poll numbers in Kentucky and West Virginia.

Hey, Seth, you know what this is?

,

Learn how to use it, friend, and your rants will become far more comprehensible. No more logical, mind you, but at least easier to read.

Sodrel's toast. Again.

puff puff, pass, puff puff, pass. Oh, now I see how you can envision a Obama Hill victory.
