Obama Campaign Announces Appointment of Jonathan Swain as Indiana Communications Director

Indianapolis, IN - The Obama for America campaign announced today that it has hired Jonathan Swain to serve as its Indiana communications director.

"We are honored to have Jonathan joining this campaign for change in Indiana ," said Obama for America Indiana State Director Emily Parcell. "His many years of experience in Indiana politics will be a major asset to our campaign team. Senator Obama is in a strong position in Indiana and intends to compete for every single vote in the Hoosier state - where voters are hungry for the kind of change Barack Obama represents."

Most recently Swain served as press secretary to U.S. Senator Evan Bayh. Earlier this year, while on a leave of absence from Bayh's office, Swain worked as the Indiana communications director for the Hillary Clinton for President campaign. His prior professional experience includes eight years in the Indiana governor's office, serving as press secretary to former Gov. Joe Kernan and chief of staff to former first lady Judy O'Bannon. From 2005-2007, he was the communications director for Angie's List, a national consumer advocacy service headquartered in Indianapolis .
