MIKE MONTAGANO NAMED TO RED TO BLUE PROGRAM

Hoosiers Are Clamoring For Change

Goshen, Ind. - This morning, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee named Third Congressional District Candidate Mike Montagano to its Red to Blue Program.  Candidates named to this program are considered to be amongst the top candidates across the country, having skillfully demonstrated that they stand for change and will represent new priorities when elected to Congress.

"Mike Montagano's appointment to the Red to Blue program is further proof that Hoosiers are tired of the economic mess we're in and are clamoring for change.  He is set to unseat Mark Souder and deliver results for the Third District," said Dan Parker, Chair of the Indiana Democratic Party

Being included in the Red to Blue program is a clear indication that Mike Montagano is in a position to resoundingly defeat Mark Souder.  The Red to Blue program highlights top Democratic campaigns across the country, and offers them financial, communications, and strategic support.  The program introduces Democratic supporters to new, competitive candidates in order to help expand the fundraising base for their campaigns.

Red to Blue was a proven success in the 2006 cycle. In 2006, the Red to Blue program raised nearly $22.6 million for 56 campaigns averaging $404,000 per campaign.  Red to Blue was also responsible for solidifying the structure of dozens of campaigns and making a real difference for Democrats across America.  Here in Indiana, Brad Ellsworth (IN-08) and Joe Donnelly (IN-02) were elected with the support of this vital program.

"Across Northern Indiana, Hoosiers are upset with the direction our country has been headed in and are desperate for the kind of leadership Mike Montagano will provide.  He will put the interests of Main Street ahead of Wall Street, and work to stabilize the economy on behalf of hardworking Hoosiers," said Parker.
